Notice the subtle difference – it is not the juxtaposition of having and not having. It is the comparison of having and not needing. The issue at hand is “where is my wealth?” In defining my need I also define my wealth. What do I need? I need Christ alone. All else is peripheral. Sometimes beautiful periphery. Sometimes deeply loved periphery. Yet without Christ all of this is simply meaningless.
