Death seems so far away. It is across the horizon. Hidden by clouds. I have heard its echoes. But to touch it…No, the miles are too great that separate us. Until it comes.
A friend. One loved in the heart. Just hours before death – head wrapped delicately in a small scarf. Murmured words that are unknown. But eyes that know the door is soon to close. That time will soon be arrested.
My God, let not one of your children embrace the end alone. Please, I beg of You, that You hold our hand when we die. At that point, where the light of the life You have given us turns to grey, do not abandon us.
Mother Mary, please pray for us.
