There are people, even great ones, who, when bewilderment comes, do not ask the Lord; but it is necessary to say directly: “Lord, I am a sinful man and I don’t understand how it should be, but You, Merciful, tell me what to do.” And the merciful Lord does not want our soul to be embarrassed by the enemy, and suggests what to do and what not to do. – St. Silouan the Athonite
I don’t have the answers. I cannot discern the path that is set before me. On my own I choose the wrong fork. I choose the fork that looks so beautiful, so tranquil, but leads to darkness and despair. Every time.
Until I came to this truth I was continually distraught. Why does my life keep going in circles – circuitous journeys of pain?
Christ is my Light. Christ is my path. Christ is my goal. When I laid my life before the cross, all became clear.
