How many times have I lost the present in lieu of my lust for the future? To be free from now so that I could surely be in a better place!

My craving for tomorrow only delivered one thing: a today that was wasted. Gone. Eternally forgotten.

If I would have understood then as I do now, perhaps I would have acted differently. Stopped to see my neighbor. Given a word to one in need. Loved the child holding my hand.

But no. I didn’t trust God. I only trusted myself.

And I am not trustworthy.
