I wonder if there is anything more frightening to many of us than the human heart. The soul. The center of our essence. That which animates. That which, also, can be overflowing with sin from which we so desperately want to hide.

Let us be on the most strict guard of our hearts! Do not allow anything profane near it. Close the door and lock it tightly against every sound, sight, feeling that pulls back to the things of earth. That desperately desire to rip us away from our God.

Allow only the Holy Spirit to dwell there. Give all of yourself to Him. And, in Him, find peace.
