“Thinking is difficult; that’s why most people judge.”
— Carl Jung
If I can judge you I don’t have to look at myself. I do not have to face the people I have ignored. The money I have hoarded. The words I didn’t speak. The love I didn’t give. The lies I told to God.
You are the problem. Not me. I am fine.
I cannot hide forever. My judgements will return to me. The rule I have used to judge others will be applied also to me. And there is no doubt that I will be found wanting. The scales of my judgment will sink under my sin. And I will be left naked before God.
Break me now Lord.
Let me love as you love.
And be filled with the same mercy you pour out on me, a great sinner.
