“I will not fear the darkness where, desiring to find You, my desire does not seem to find You. But if I desire You, I have already found You. If I love You, You are with me. If I cry out to You, You have already heard my voice.”

— Thomas Merton

The very desire for God is given by grace to us. No one searches, reaches, screams in the darkness from their own self. The draw outside of ourselves is to already to be in His presence. Our tears are already held in the palm of God’s hand.
