A Saint is a person who has a singularity of purpose. Of focus. So said Soren Kierkegaard. Who has had such focus in a timeframe so close to ours as Padre Pio?

Every picture I see of him I am reminded that Saints are humans like us. They are born, live and die just like us. The difference is in their focus on only one thing – one Person – Jesus Christ.

Lord, how can I rid myself of all of this noise? All of these distractions? These voices that tear me into pieces? How can I have only You? See only You? Want only You?

Please, please, I beg You, please give me pure singularity of focus – You who were crucified and died for me, the greatest of sinners.
