The raising of Christ from the dead is a raising, of sorts, of us as well. The tomb is empty. Death has been defeated by death. Our fears have been removed. In Christ we are made new. Fresh. Alive. So that we can experience Our God here and now.

Christ is risen from the dead. Sin has been defeated. All that has kept me hidden has been nailed to the cross. The dead wood of an instrument of torture has sprouted forth eternal life. For us.

And the God of Mercy has come close.
