The Lord is the true Friend; when your friends and brothers forget about you. He does not forget and does not leave you, but is with you. – St. Ephraim the Syrian

I have forgotten others. Leaving them behind when they became a hindrance to me. And I have been left behind. Erased from memory. From an entwined life. Yet, even in my darkest caverns. Where I chose death over Christ. Where I drank the venom of darkness willingly. Jesus was as close as my breath. He didn’t turn His face at my sin. But He spoke. He whispered my name. Until I awoke from the nightmare of my making.
