“The darker the [divine] mystery, the more we are illumined by it.”

– Jean-Pierre de Caussade, Abandonment to Divine Providence

God is mystery. Our words are without reference. Our thoughts cannot begin to comprehend Him.

We know Him through analogies. From what He had given us in this life we scrape together what imagery we can to fathom even the smallest conception of Him. Yet, we are always left wanting. Through a darkened and blurred glass.

However, to deeply want Him. To yearn for Him in the mystery. Through the glass. In the haze is to find Him already. Our desire for Him is the illumination from Him where we are right now. Without knowledge. Without understanding. But with absolute Love.
